Solid Ground Flooring is hiring a full-time, permanent Apprentice Tilesetter.
Duties and responsibilities
- Ensuring that tile is placed on a level surface to prevent cracking or buckling over time
- Removing and replacing cracked or damaged tiles
- Installing ceramic tiles on walls and floors using a hammer and nails or adhesives such as grout or mortar
- Installing natural stone such as marble or granite, including cutting and shaping the stone using power tools such as grinders or saws
- Cutting and fitting materials such as carpet, vinyl, linoleum, rubber, or wood flooring before installing them
- Preparing surfaces for tile installation by cleaning and smoothing the surface with a grinder or sander
- Installing wall tile such as ceramic, porcelain, or glass tile on walls or other surfaces such as countertops or backsplashes
- Installing floor tile such as ceramic, porcelain, or travertine tile on floors or other surfaces such as countertops or showers
- Installing ceramic wall tile such as brick, ceramic, or stucco by cutting tiles to size and affixing them to walls
- Teach and train tile setting skills if needed
Location: 1277 Hollybrook St, Coquitlam, BC V3B7M9
Requirement: Secondary school education is required. 7 months to 1year of experience is required.
Language: English needed.
Salary: $25/hour
Benefits: 4 % vacation pay
