Conditions
· Position: Early Childhood Educator (NOC 4214)
· Full-Time, Permanent position, 30-40 hours per week (shifted schedule)
· Hourly Wage: $19.00 – $23.00 per hour (wage to be determined based on experience and skills)
· Vacation: 10 days of paid vacation.
· Benefit: Medical and Extended Health Benefit, 5 Paid Sick days

Requirements:
· Previous work experience in child care is an asset
· Education: College Diploma in early childhood education or Bachelor’s Degree in child development is required
· Credentials: First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, and ECE (Early Childhood Educator) Certificate
· Criminal Record Check
· Language: English
Job Duties;
· Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
· Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
· Lead activities and engage children by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, demonstrating the use of simple musical instruments, and preparing crafts
· Provide opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity
· Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents, and attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
· Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor
· Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children
· Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
