PERSONAL SUPPORT AIDE- IN HOME CAREGIVER

A professional family in TORONTO, ON requires an experienced local Personal Support Aide- Home Caregiver with recent relevant, paid work experience (or relevant education and on-the-job-training) to care for their  High Medical Needs, physically and mentally Disabled, wheel-chair bound seventeen year old son (he has Pallister-Killian Syndrome) and assist him with his activities of daily living when parents are away at work.

Days Off: Two Days Off Per Week

Optional Accommodation (Free furnished room with a lock on the door for privacy and all meals and utilities free) available at no charge on a live in basis.

Childcare Duties and Responsibilities:

– Care for our disabled son’s needs when parents are at work;

–Help bathe, dress and feed him, assist him with his mobility.
– Supervise our son’s activities when we are not at home
– Cook simple meals and ensure that our sons have their meals on time
– Tend to emotional well being of our disabled older son;
– Perform light housekeeping chores around  our son’s needs and do his laundry, fold and keep away his clothes
– Assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents
– Keep our son’s living areas neat and clean, hygienic and organized
– Maintain a safe, secure and organized home environment for our son

Start Date

As soon as Possible

Salary

 $18. Per Hour for a 40  Hour Work Week 

Education Requirements

-Must have Canadian High School Diploma, have completed High School or have equivalent education from elsewhere.

Essential Skills

Must have good interpersonal and communication skills. Must be warm, loving, kind, Honest, trustworthy, reliable, punctual, flexible, neat and clean and organized and must have initiative and be able to bond well with our son, assist him with his Activities of Daily Living, keep him safe and follow his routine.

Experience

– Would be good for Applicants to have One to Two years of Full-time, Relevant, Paid Work Experience (or Relevant Education and On-the-job-training)  with a mentally and physically disabled, wheelchair bound person within the last three years.

Languages

Must Be Fluent In English

Weight Handling

-Should be able to handle upto 10 kgs

Additional Skills

Must be warm, caring, kind, competent, mature and trained to care for mentally and physically challenged, wheel-chair bound young man and be able to follow his routine.
