Position Title: Farm Supervisor with Specialized Greenhouse Production Experience
Number of Vacancies: 1
Terms of Employment: Full-time, Permanent
Work Hours: 35 hours per week

Wage: CAD $25.00 per hour

Job Duties:

• Supervise and oversee greenhouse crop production activities, including planting, irrigating, fertilizing, cultivating, spraying, and harvesting to ensure optimal yield and quality.
• Monitor crop health, identify pests and diseases, and implement pest control measures including pesticide application and integrated pest management (IPM).
• Assess soil and growing media conditions and apply appropriate fertilizers, nutrients, and soil amendments to support crop productivity.
• Develop and implement daily and seasonal work schedules to maximize efficiency and maintain production standards.
• Monitor and control greenhouse environmental conditions, including temperature, humidity, irrigation, and ventilation systems.
• Ensure farm safety, food safety, occupational health, and bio-security procedures are followed and train staff on proper handling of chemicals and equipment.
• Hire, train, and supervise staff in greenhouse planting and harvesting, crop production techniques, and equipment use.
• Operate and oversee maintenance of farm machinery, greenhouse infrastructure, and production systems.
• Maintain records of crop production, pesticide and fertilizer usage, work logs, and inventory.
• Oversee greenhouse cleaning and sanitation to maintain a safe and hygienic growing environment.
• Perform general farm duties as required.
• Co-ordinate and supervise greenhouse workers and harvesting laborers, including assigning daily tasks and monitoring performance.

Skills Requirements:

Education:
• Minimum completion of high school diploma.

Work Experience:
• Previous greenhouse or farm experience is considered an asset.

• Other specialized training in agriculture is required.
• Experience in crop production, pest control, fertilizer application, or greenhouse operations is required.

Language:
• English

Supervision:
• Experience supervising 3–4 workers is required.
