The Finance Officer is responsible for managing the organization’s financial operations, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, monitoring budgets, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting management with financial planning and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain financial records, ledgers, and journals.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Process payroll and statutory deductions.
- Prepare and file GST/HST, payroll, and other government remittances.
- Monitor cash flow and prepare cash flow reports.
- Analyze financial data and identify trends or discrepancies.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, tax regulations, and financial legislation.
- Maintain accurate filing systems and financial documentation.
- Prepare invoices and monitor collections.
- Support management with financial analysis and recommendations.
- Perform other finance and administrative duties as assigned.
