Position Title: General Farm Worker (Seasonal – Harvesting)
Number of Positions: 8 (4 positions per employment period)
Employment Period:
- April 15, 2027 to October 15, 2027 (4 positions)
- May 15, 2027 to November 15, 2027 (4 positions)
Wage: CAD $17.95 per hour
Work Hours: 40 hours per week
Benefits: 4% Vacation Pay
Job Duties:
- Prepare soil and assist with planting, cultivating, and irrigating various vegetables and melons.
- Apply fertilizers and remove weeds to maintain healthy crop growth.
- Hand harvest various vegetables and melons grown on the farm.
- Sort harvested vegetables and fruits according to quality.
- Divide fresh harvested produce into marketable and non-marketable lots.
- Examine harvested produce for quality and readiness for the market.
- Clean and maintain work areas.
Job Requirements
- No formal education or specific certification required.
- Previous farm work or harvesting experience is an asset but not mandatory.
- On-the-job training will be provided.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable, flexible, and able to work independently as well as in a team.
