Salary: $24.00 / Hour

Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time, 40.00 to 44.00 Hours / Week

Start date: As soon as possible

Languages: English

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience

Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years

Security and Safety: Criminal record check

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:  Fast-paced environment, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Standing for extended periods

Work Site Environment: Non-smoking

Personal Suitability:  Organized, Excellent oral communication, Effective interpersonal skills, Accurate, Team player

Additional Skills:

• Instruct apprentices
• Maintain clean and safe work environment
• Supervise other workers
• Estimate costs and materials

Area of Specialization:  Cabinets, Built-in units, Doors and door frames and cabinet remodeling Specific Skills:

• Build cabinets from start to finish
• Cut, shape and prepare mouldings
• Build and assemble components of cabinets, cabinet doors and counter tops
• Assemble the product by gluing, clamping, dowelling, nailing and screwing pieces together
• Study plans, specifications or drawings of articles to be made, or prepare specifications
• Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete unit and reinforce joints
• Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain or polish to finished product
• prepare and apply laminated plastics
• Apply varnish, veneer, stain or polish to finished products
• Operate woodworking machines and use hand tools to cut, shape and form parts and components

Weight Handling: Up to 50 lbs

Work Setting: Residential, commercial; custom cabinet shop
