Assistant Operations Supervisor

The Chilko Experience Wilderness Resort is located on Chilko Lake, in the Cariboo region of British Columbia. We are recruiting an Assistant Operations Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic, energetic and guest focused individual to handle this multi-faceted year-round role, with a 6 month term on location in a wilderness lodge and the other 6 months to be worked remotely. Salary is $21.00 per hour. During the season between April to October, work hours are 40 hours per week and in the off season between November to March, work hours are 30 hours per week.  Benefits include use of resort facilities and equipment including gym facilities, kayaks, ATVs and fishing equipment.  

The successful candidate has a strong and varied work history in management and/or supervisory roles, and thrives in a fast paced environment. You have a passion for the wilderness and wellness experience, and have qualifications and a work history in the fields of management or supervision, yoga instruction, marketing, hospitality and service. Experience in beauty therapy, massage and general wellness are considered assets. You are an individual who is adept at leading a team of up to 10 staff and are an effective communicator. You are able to thrive while working in remote areas. Staff food and accommodations are provided at a cost of $350 per week, paid through payroll deductions.

  Responsibilities:

• Responsible for providing a luxury guest experience from arrival, through all activities, wellness, housekeeping and food and beverage
• Supervise, assign and review the work of a service and housekeeping team of up to 10 staff
• Establish work schedules and procedures and co-ordinate activities with other work units or departments
• Resolve work-related problems and prepare and submit progress and other reports
• Curate and deliver a yoga and wellness program to expand and develop our wellness offerings.
• Provide product and service information to guests.
• Handle guest communication from inquiry, through to booking and onsite guest experience Develop marketing material and work in collaboration with travel vendors and individuals to grow our customer base
• Develop and implement social media marketing campaigns during the off season.
• Develop wellness programs and other guest programs to implement for upcoming seasons.
• Assist the operation manager in planning, budgeting, and staffing for upcoming seasons.

  Requirements:

• Must have 2 to 3 years of supervisory experience in a guest service and hospitably orientated environment
• Must have experience developing and delivering yoga and other wellness programs
• Must be an excellent communicator
• Must be able to motivate and inspire staff to provide exceptional guest service
• Experience in beauty therapy and massage are considered assets
