Description

JMD Express Inc., located at 30 Newbridge Road, Etobicoke, ON M8Z 2L7 is hiring HEAVY TRUCK DRIVERS.

QUALIFICATIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
 Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
 No experience required, will train
 Reasonable knowledge of English
 Valid passport, basic security clearance, driving record check (abstract)
 Effective interpersonal skills, flexible, organized, reliable, team player
 Familiar with inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), driver logbook, trip reports
 Willing to relocate and work in various locations
 The job is repetitive and may require overtime; is physically demanding and requires long periods of sitting while driving
 Be able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
 Commit to performing all work in a safe manner
 Willing to travel cross-border, for extended periods, internationally, and travel overnight
 Valid AZ class license
 Experience in operating tractor-trailer
 Be able to work independently and with minimal supervision
 Professionalism in customer service

JOB DESCRIPTION
 Operate a tractor-trailer to transport good and materials
Load and unload goods
 Perform preventive maintenance
 Perform brake adjustments
 Pay and receive payments for goods
 Perform emergency roadside repairs
 Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
 Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
 Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
 Arrange travel, related itineraries and make reservations
 Receive and relay information to central dispatch
 Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo

TERMS
This is an immediate, permanent, full-time position – 40.00 hours per week, with $24.04 per hour pay. The driver needs to be available to work mornings, early mornings, days, evenings, and may be required to work overtime and will be driving local, short-haul, long-haul, provincial/territorial, international routes.
