Home Support Worker

Description

Description: The home support worker will provide care and company to two senior citizens in their home. Personal care duties will require providing help with personal hygiene, dressing, assisting with administering medications, bathing, exercise, and transfers to and from wheelchair to locations including bed and sofa. Home support worker will also assist with preparation and serving of meals according to dietary requirements and restrictions, and with housekeeping duties including shopping, errands, laundry, washing dishes, making beds, and vacuuming.

Position Requirements: Completion of secondary school and post-secondary program in caregiving, nursing, or a related field required. At least one year of full time, paid experience as a caregiver or in a related field or occupation in the past five years. First Aid training required. Must be able to communicate in English. The ideal candidate will be willing to work a flexible schedule, and will need to variously work weekdays and weekends. Reference check will be required. Please note this is a permanent position with full-time hours ranging from 30-40 hours/week.
