We are looking to hire a dedicated and committed ‘HR Representative’ for our Mississauga location to take care of vital office functions including assisting company management with recruiting, onboarding, regulatory compliance, training and liaising with different departments within the company.

Compensation: $28.00 per hour/35 hours/week
Minimum qualifications for this position must meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, business administration or related field
 - 1-3 years of experience in HR with exposure to all major functional areas of HR, required
 - Knowledge of HR systems and databases, required
 - In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices, required
 - Basic accounting knowledge
 - Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to ask probing questions and understand and resolve employee concerns
 - Ability to learn new technologies and adapt quickly to changes
 - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and adobe professional
 - Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage pressure with time constraints.
 - Ability to multi-task. Willingness to learn and take initiative.
 - Can-Do attitude with teamwork approach
 - Solid interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), organizational, and time management skills
 
Job Responsibilities:
- Implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall strategy of our trucking business
 - Manage all aspects of employee relations particularly in light of management’s need to start HR functions afresh within the company
 - Take hands-on responsibility for the day-to-day HR management including the hiring process, onboarding, training, health and safety, benefits, investigations
 - Prepare documents for driver security clearance application and coordinate with the governing body
 - Ensure compliance with required regulations, policies, and laws related to Human Resources activities
 - Verify driver candidates’ documents such as driving license, training, CVOR, driver abstract, previous employment and insurance history
 - Train management in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment
 - Ensure the administration of audit activities for compliance within HR policies and procedures
 - Advise applicants about trucking industry requirements and terms and conditions of employment
 - Prepare job contracts/offers and drivers insurance documents
 - Conduct safety reviews to assess risk and determine if everything is in working order
 - Assist with staffing, succession planning, and conduct orientation for newly hired
 - Understand concepts related to compensation and benefits systems, processes, and employee communications
 - Assists with job posting, interviews, on-boarding, managing employee records, and employee training
 - Participate and represent our business at trucking hiring events
 - Liaison with truck training schools to attract Canadian youth and newcomers drivers
 - General clerical tasks such as filing and some correspondence
 - Answer telephone and email inquiries from potential drivers and dispatch staff
 - Internal event coordination
 - Assist with social media campaigns and maintain a reputed online presence
