Custom Farm Machinery Operator

Description

Albrecht Green Acre Farms Limited, crop farm in Schuler, Alberta requires a full time Custom Farm Machinery Operator to perform the following:

– Supervise and oversee growing and other crop-related operations;
– Supervise , train & coordinate work of farm workers;
– Provide agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying or harvesting;
– Operate & maintain farm equipment & machinery (harvesters, seeder, sprayers, tractors, feeding and water system, automated manure handling or storage system);
– Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures
– Negotiate with farmers regarding the services to be provided
– Develop work schedules and establish procedures;
– Maintain quality control and production records;
– Stone and/or wood picking and hoeing crops;
– Perform some general farm duties
Skill Requirements:
– At least 2 years of relevant experience
– Completion of secondary education
– Ability to supervise
– Valid driver’s license; able to drive manual transmission
– Ability to handle a physically demanding job
Salary: $18.43-20/hr (depending on experience) for 40-50 hrs/week. Overtime may be required during peak periods
