Dairy Herdsperson

Description

D&A Dairies Ltd. near Blackfalds requires 2 full time Dairy Herdspersons to perform the following duties:

-monitor herd, recognize and treat health concerns
-formulate feed rations according to nutritional requirements
-assist with births
-milk and feed cows
-operate and maintain farm equipment & machinery
-supervise farm operations
-supervise farm labourers
-supervise breeding program
-maintain production and livestock records
-operate farm machinery for plowing, cultivating, seeding and harvesting for feed preparation
-general farm duties

Requirements:
-completion of high school
-at least 2 years of dairy experience
-driver’s license and able to drive manual transmission
-able to work well independently
-must be willing to work early mornings and weekends

Compensation: $18.43-$20/hr depending on experience for 40-50 hrs per week
