Early Childhood Educator

Description

We are seeking a dedicated, energetic Early Childhood Educator who is self motivated and has a genuine love for young children. Good English, leadership and organizational skills is a must, as is a love for the outdoors, nature, and familiarity with Emergent curriculum.

Position / Compensation

• Term: Full-Time & permanent (40 hours per week)
• Shift: Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm
• Start date: from November 1st, 2018
• Starting wages: $18 per hour
• Benefits: Basic Extended Health Care / Dental after 3 months probation period plus 4% Vacation pay

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Valid Early Childhood Educator license to practice
• Current & Clear criminal record check
• 3 professional/ related references
• Valid First Aid Certificate
• A letter/ statement from a medical doctor
• Must have basic computer skills to record daily activity logs
• Experience is an asset

Duties:

• Be able to assist with the planning and implementation of a program that is educational and child-centered, including documenting each child’s progress
• Is able to work productively with minimum supervision
• Provide excellent supervision and interaction with children at all times
• Establish and maintain positive daily communication with children and parents
• Be creative, very loving, resourceful, reliable, independent and a team player
• Is able to guide children with challenged behaviors and prepare report to parents
• Can recognize and understand child development stages
• Is fluent in English and has exceptional communication skills
• Is able to multi-task and be organized in a stressful environment
• Must be punctual and have no attendance issues
