Home Support Worker

Description

One (1) live-in position in Edmonton, Alberta. Duties include providing personal care to one elderly adult, administering medications, laundering clothing and household linens, light housekeeping and cleaning duties, assist with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene, provide personal care and companionship.  Prepare and serve nutritious meals.  

Wage: $18.85/hr for 40 hours a week

Hours:     8 – 4:30 Monday to Friday. 

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience of 3 years to less than 5 years required.  Immunization record and a Vulnerable Sector check are also required. Public transportation is availalble.  Applicant must be comfortable with bending, crouching, kneeling, and a combination of sitting, standng, and walking.  Physically demanding and repetitive tasks.  Accomodation provided.  Non-smoking and scent sensitive working environment.  Applicant must be punctual, organized, have effective interpersonal skills, be dependable, and flexible.  Must express initiative and possess excellent communicaton skills, judgement and reliability.  A "client focus" is required for this position.  Must be able to handle weight between 61 and 80 kgs (133-176 lbs).
