Live-in Caregiver – Seniors

Description

One full time, live-in position in Duagh, Alberta (near Namao, Alberta).  $18.65/hr for 40 hrs/week.  Must be available for morning, day, evening, weekend, and night shift work.  You will administer medicaltions, launder clothing and household linens, provide personal care and  companionship to one elderly adult.  You will perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, assist with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene, prepare and serve nutritious meals.  Must speak English.  Secondary (high) school graduation certificate OR equivalent experience of 3 years to less than 5 years required.  Immunization records, a Vulnerable Sector Check and a refernece will be required.  Public transportation is not avalable.  Applicant must be comfortable with bending, crouching, kneeling, and a combination of sitting, standing and walking.  The position is physically demanding with repetitive tasks like standing for extended periods and walking.  Accommodation will be provided in the employer’s home in a rural area.  This is a non-smoking and scent sensitive environment.  Applicant must be punctual, organized, have effective interpersonal skills, dependable, flexible, must express initiative and possess excellent communication skills, judgement and reliability.  Must have a client focus. Must be able to handle weight between 61 and 80 kgs (133-176 lbs).
